Validating filenames with regularexpression validator

For instance, if you use a regular expression to treat a string like "coração", you'll end up with "corao", while using the function i posted you would end up with "coracao", which is much closer and readable that the version treated by regular expressions.

regarding the fileupload control, what you need is to get the filename of the selected file, treat it with the Remove Diacritics function and then upload the file writing it on disk with the treated filename instead of the original.

Below is my file upload use the following function to remove all special characters from the filename.

When removing the characters, they get substituted by their plain text version, for instance, if you find a "Ç", or an "Ã", they will get replaced by "C" and "A". Loader Max allows you to load many different asset types through it’s Image Loader, SWFLoader, XMLLoader, Video Loader and other loaders while easily tracking the loading progress of each item and the cumulative load progress. After using Loader Max on one project I will never use the built-in AS3 stuff again. Just take a look at how easy loading a single image is and all the properties you can set with an Image Loader. In this post I’m using the Maven Enforcer plugin to break the build when certain files don’t follow the expected naming convention. It’s always a good idea to take the time and implement these checks inside the build pipeline. In this particular case, I would first implement the naming convention with the beanshell script, as shown in this post. This is enough to solve my actual problem (having consistent filenames).

So if you do something like this: Loader Max will create these types of Loaders in the following order: Video Loader MP3Loader Image Loader SWFLoader And then load them all perfectly and fire the complete Handler callback when done. For my Twitter Spitter, I simply create an array out of all the nodes from my Twitter xml and pass it into Loader Max.parse.
